DIRECTIONS TO THE BRASSTOWN
COMMUNITY CENTER

From Andrews, NC:
(~19 mi) Follow Hwy. 74 West toward Murphy. At the traffic
light near Marble (Big D/Phillips 66 station on the corner),
turn left onto Hwy. 141 toward Tri-County Community
College. After about eight miles, turn left at the traffic
light (T-intersection) onto US Hwy. 64 East. Within a
quarter of a mile, just past Tri-County Community College,
take the first road to the right (Old Hwy. 64) toward the
John C. Campbell Folk School. Follow Old Hwy. 64 for two
miles. Just past the Citgo station (Clay’s Corner) and
Brasstown Rd., turn left onto Settawig Road. The Community
Center is a quarter of a mile on the left.
From Hayesville, NC:
(~11 mi) Follow Hwy 64 West toward Murphy. Turn left onto Settawig Road
following signs to Brasstown and the John C. Campbell Folk School. [The
turn is a couple of miles past the store at Fires Creek, but before you
would cross the Hiwassee River at Mission Farms.] The Community Center
is approximately 2.5 miles on the right just before the post office and
“downtown” Brasstown.
From Murphy, NC:
(~9 mi) Follow Hwy 64 East along the Hiwassee River toward Tri-County
Community College. Go through the traffic light near Murphy Medical
Center. Within a quarter of a mile, just past Tri-County Community
College, take the first road to the right (Old Hwy. 64) toward the John
C. Campbell Folk School. Follow Old Hwy. 64 for two miles. Just past
the Citgo station (Clay’s Corner) and Brasstown Rd., turn left onto
Settawig Road. The Community Center is a quarter of a mile on the left.
From Blairsville, GA:
(~30 mi) Take Hwy. 19/129 North to Hwy. 64 in NC. Turn right onto Hwy.
64 East toward Murphy. After passing through the commercial section of
town, turn right at the traffic light just after crossing the river.
This keeps you following Hwy. 64 East towards Hayesville. Continue
following directions from Murphy. [Alternatively, you may take US Hwy.
76 East to Young Harris and follow the directions from there. It is
shorter mileage-wise, but the road is narrow and curvy.]
From Hiawassee, GA:
(~18 mi) Take Hwy. 76 West toward Young Harris. After passing Lake
Chatuge and the Fieldstone Resort, turn right at the traffic light
(between the BP & Citgo stations) onto routes 515 & 69 toward
Hayesville. Turn left at the traffic light at US 64 in Hayesville.
Continue following directions from Hayesville.
From Young Harris, GA:
(~15 mi) From the traffic light at Young Harris College, take Hwy. 66
north toward Warne, NC. In Warne, turn left (T-intersection) onto Old
US 64 and follow it to Brasstown (about 8 miles). After you go around a
sharp left curve into “downtown” Brasstown, take the first road to the
right (Settawig). The Community Center is a quarter of a mile on the
left. |
