LAKE NOTTELY

HRWC/TVA studies show that an excess of nutrients (primarily phosphorus) is also the primary cause for concern related to Lake Nottely’s ecological health.  In 2002, Lake Nottely was receiving 28,000 pounds of phosphorus per year.  However, the Lake Nottely watershed was experiencing the end of a record drought when the study was begun and there has been a significant decrease in poultry production since that time.  Before HRWC writes a watershed action plan, we want to be sure the model is still portraying an accurate picture of lake dynamics.
